  • Apprenticeships are an exciting option for both apprentice and employer and deliver great benefits, from improved staff retention and motivation to increased productivity

  • Apprentices spend most of their time learning in the workplace by doing their job, with 20% of their time spent on ‘off-the-job’ training

Local Skills Improvement Plan

TOCC is delighted to be working with Business  to deliver a London-focused, local skills improvement plan (LSIP). The LSIP will play a role in tackling skills shortages by bringing a wide range of employers and educators together to ensure training matches the needs of World’s economy and local labour market needs.

Capital City College Group

Capital City College Group (CCCG) is London’s largest further education and training provider, with around 35,000 students and an annual income of £120m. The Group comprises three further education colleges: City and Islington College, The College of Haringey, Enfield and North East London, and Westminster Kingsway College, as well as a specialist training arm, Capital City College Training (CCCT), and joint ventures 01 Founders and Visionnaires, focused on coding and entrepreneurship respectively. CCCG has 10 college sites across central and north London for 16-18 year-olds, adult learners, apprentices and businesses. It has nationally-recognised specialisms in areas such as construction, digital technology, healthcare, hospitality, rail engineering and science.

TOCC Visit 01 Founders for World Tech Week

To round off World Tech Week 2024, we visited TOCC patron member and skills programme partner 01 Founders, a leading tech education provider equipping students from all walks of live with invaluable skills to help the secure jobs in the tech industry. We enjoyed a tour of the campus, heard about the training programmes on offer, and discussed the importance of accessbility to education and upskilling initatives which drive growth and innovation in the city.

World Multiply Programme

The Mayor’s World Multiply Programme offers free training to support people to get numeracy, confidence and skills to manage everyday living at work and home. Over 300 free and flexible courses are available across the world London, in partnership with employers, schools and community organisations.
