[Bad Company 2: Tactics and All That Stuff] Engineer

Actually I’m doing the first topic. And I decided to devote it to tactics in Battlefield: Bad Company 2. I don’t know, maybe it will be useful to someone, and someone will just downvote it. Anyway, let’s get started!

Engineer (Mechanic, engineer, guy with a big club) – a thunderstorm for technology.

Weapons: light machine guns and a pistol (like everyone else, actually). Class weapons – three types of rocket launchers and an anti-tank mine (to choose from).

Main task: support of friendly equipment, destruction of enemy equipment (usually from under attack)

Okay, let’s move on to the analysis of weapons:

9A-91 Automatic A good, versatile option for a beginner. Average bullet range and pretty good lethality. Low recoil – convenient.

SCAR-L Crabin This weapon is an analogue of the 9A-91 assault rifle. That is, almost identical – the same lethality, range and silencer on the barrel. Quite a good barrel, although it depends on what you compare it to.

XM8 Compact this is an excellent choice https://bingositesnotongamstop.co.uk/review/winit-casino/ for urban combat – high rate of fire in exchange for accuracy. Effective at short and medium (40 – 60 meters) distances. younger brother XM8 Prototype.

AKS-74 Shortened – excellent universal weapon. Medium and short operating distances, high stopping power – an excellent choice for forests, village areas and fields (although one can argue here, but for an engineer it’s just right). An excellent option for those who run from tank to tank.

UZI an excellent walleye for those who like to run around houses. The low destructive power and range of the bullet are compensated by the hurricane rate of fire.

PP-2000 Automatic practically the same as UZI, but, with even greater speed, throwing lead at the enemy. Just right for clearing rooms and alleys.

UMP-45 with a silencer – a universal melee weapon. Suitable for promotion next to technology. Of course, this weapon is also effective at medium distances (similar to SCAR-L, but with a lower rate of fire and more power), but I personally would not recommend running around the field with it and naughty back and forth. This weapon is more suitable for covert advancement.

So, let’s move on to the weapon that the engineer is famous for – portable missile launchers.

RPG-7 Best choice for heavy equipment killers. High destructive power, but not the largest explosion radius. Reacts to beacon. Suitable for treating people from the obsessive thought of hiding from the enemy behind a ton of steel.

M2 Carl Gustav AV storm of bunkers. Or, in our case, buildings. Fire his shell through the window and everyone who was sitting “in the house” will go to the next world. Ineffective for technology. Except for helicopters. a fast projectile will catch up with it without problems, unlike RPG-7. High range, but low power. Also interacts with the beacon.

M136 AT4 weapon with "illumination". That is, the missile guidance system. Effective against fast aircraft and the destruction of the fastest enemy individuals (and especially crowds of the fastest enemy individuals). Doesn’t respond to beacon.

Anti-tank mine operates according to the tactics of “put it down – wait – the tank arrives – it explodes”. Mines are much more powerful than missiles. It is best to place them during a retreat on the road behind you, or to climb towards the enemy with sabotage and cover all the paths there. Elementary!

Let’s talk about the engineer’s place on the battlefield.

An engineer is a doctor for technology. He prolongs her life, but instead of first aid kits he has an army entrenching tool, which quickly and efficiently gives new life to cars.
Our “jack of all trades” should run either next to the equipment (tanks, armored personnel carriers), or somewhere nearby, for example behind a wall or in a house, or in the forest, but so that it is not far from the equipment. It happens that an engineer runs around with two tanks. This, of course, is a mess, but it’s okay. The main thing is not to catch lead.
The most “true” thing is when a medic is running next to her. He will help with a first aid kit and get you on your feet if anything happens.

Destruction of equipment is still an art! Let’s see what we have:
1) Destruction “directly”
2) By beacon
In order. The main example is a tank and an armored personnel carrier, everything else is just flowers (well, I think it won’t be difficult to get into a helicopter with a beacon).

If the tank is right in front of you and you CONFIDENT (. ), if you hit it, the flag will be in your hands. But if the tank is intact, then it is better to put a beacon (if there is one) so that others can help. It’s better to shoot a tank in the ass. There are fuel tanks and an engine – the local engineer won’t get into trouble fixing all this. You shouldn’t shoot at the forehead – the armor there is stronger and the beveled edge will not allow the missile to recoup in full. As a last resort, shoot at the sides. Golden mean. By the way, as I noticed Parabellum, getting into the joint between the turret and the hull risks the same as getting into the rear of a tank.

If you have a beacon, or your victim already has one, then it all depends on the situation. First, evaluate your position. The rocket CANNOT dodge obstacles. It will turn once towards the beacon, a second after launch, and fly after it. In the field, you should shoot at the beacon by pointing the rocket launcher upward. Aim at the beacon and go ahead – the rocket will find its victim in any case. If you are in the city, then you should think about where the tank (or whatever you have) is located. If it is right around the corner and very close, then look at the first method, but if it is around the corner and stands at the other end of the street, then we reward the tank with a beacon. You shouldn’t shoot at him with a rocket launcher right away (directly) – this requires time to aim and fire (they’ll just kill you). It’s much faster and safer to do this with a beacon. We shoot from the rocket launcher, moving away from the turn, at a slight upward angle (30 – 40 degrees) and aim slightly at the turn (no matter how stupid it may sound). It’s even better if you are in a building: shoot from the windows, moving away from them first (this way they won’t shoot you, but they will know where you are (but in reality never do this. This is the same as standing in the same room with a stick of dynamite attached to the wall)).

Well I guess that’s it. Thanks to those who read this and did not regret it. Okay though, just for everyone who read. Feedback and suggestions in the comments.
